DAB1SIG DAB Aerial

DAB1SIG is a professional, 1-element antenna designed for reception of digital radio broadcasts - DAB.

Due to its pattern and 1 dBi gain, the antenna is perfect for urban areas with DAB transmitters.

The versatile design of the mount allows for easy change of the antenna polarization (V or H).

Current situation regarding DAB radio in Ireland (10/03/2026)

DAB digital radio in Ireland is currently in a development and trial phase. The previous national DAB service operated by RTÉ closed in 2021 due to low uptake, leaving FM and online streaming as the main ways people listen to radio.

More recently, a new trial platform called FáilteDAB has begun broadcasting additional digital radio stations in parts of the country, with plans to expand coverage. While DAB may grow in the coming years, its long-term role in Ireland’s radio market is still evolving.
