Alcad 7 Element DAB aerial for use in weak signal areas.
The Alcad 7 Element DAB Aerial is a high-performance directional antenna designed to improve DAB/DAB digital radio reception, particularly in weak signal or fringe coverage areas. With increased gain and a directional design, it helps deliver stronger, more stable digital radio signals when compared with basic omnidirectional aerials.
Ideal for outdoor mast installations, this aerial is engineered to capture DAB signals across the standard Band III frequencies used throughout Ireland.

Current situation regarding DAB radio in Ireland (10/03/2026)
DAB digital radio in Ireland is currently in a development and trial phase. The previous national DAB service operated by RTÉ closed in 2021 due to low uptake, leaving FM and online streaming as the main ways people listen to radio.
More recently, a new trial platform called FáilteDAB has begun broadcasting additional digital radio stations in parts of the country, with plans to expand coverage. While DAB may grow in the coming years, its long-term role in Ireland’s radio market is still evolving
